This article introduces a soft wearable eyelid sling device incorporating a hydraulic soft artificial muscle (SAM) for achieving complete closure of an eyelid. The SAM is driven by a cam mechanism that provides a displacement profile closely matched with those of a healthy eyelid.

Sine function with a cosine attitude
We give a revealing expose that addresses an important issue in scattering theory of how to construct two asymptotically sinusoidal solutions of the wave equation with a phase shift using the same basis having the same boundary conditions at the origin. Analytic series representations of these solutions are obtained.

Grounding Large Language Models for Robot Task Planning Using Closed‐Loop State Feedback
BrainBody‐Large Language Model (LLM) introduces a hierarchical, feedback‐driven planning framework where two LLMs coordinate high‐level reasoning and low‐level control for robotic tasks. By grounding decisions in real‐time state feedback, it reduces hallucinations and improves task reliability.

Edible robotics is an emerging field that leverages edible materials to construct robotic systems. This study presents a method to create thin, lightweight, yet powerful edible soft actuators, namely edible pouch motors. The successful operation of these edible actuators and grippers renders their potential to advance future developments in edible ...

Nearly cosine series and generalized trigonometric functions [PDF]
A class of overlooked trigonometric-like functions is explored in this article, along with the relevant applications in applications. We show indeed that Taylor series, resembling that of an ordinary cosine, are representative of wider classes of ...

Asymmetry in Skipping Enhances Viability Against Control Input Noise
Quadruped animals use asymmetric galloping gaits at high speeds, yet the functional role of this asymmetry remains unclear. This study shows that left–right asymmetry in touchdown angles enhances robustness to control noise. Using a simple two‐legged locomotion model and viability theory, it demonstrates that asymmetric skipping substantially enlarges ...

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

Continuum Mechanics Modeling of Flexible Spring Joints in Surgical Robots
A new mechanical model of a tendon‐actuated helical extension spring joint in surgical robots is built using Cosserat rod theory. The model can implicitly handle the unknown contacts between adjacent coils and numerically predict spring shapes from straight to significantly bent under actuation forces.
