On the origin of cosmic web [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal Plus, 2022
The emergence of one and two-dimensional configurations -- Zeldovich pancakes -- progenitors of the observed filaments and clusters and groups of galaxies, is predicted by means of a developed kinetic approach in analyzing the evolution of initial density perturbations.

The Evolving Effect of Cosmic Web Environment on Galaxy Quenching

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We investigate how cosmic web structures affect galaxy quenching in the IllustrisTNG (TNG100) cosmological simulations by reconstructing the cosmic web within each snapshot using the D is P er SE framework.

The CMS Tracker operation and performance at the Magnet Test and Cosmic Challenge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
During summer 2006 a fraction of the CMS silicon strip tracker was operated in a comprehensive slice test called the Magnet Test and Cosmic Challenge (MTCC).

A dynamical classification of the cosmic web [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2009
A dynamical classification of the cosmic web is proposed. The large scale environment is classified into four web types: voids, sheets, filaments and knots. The classification is based on the evaluation of the deformation tensor, i.e. the Hessian of the gravitational potential, on a grid.

Measurement of Ultra-High Energy Cosmic Rays with CHICOS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The California HIgh school Cosmic ray ObServatory (CHICOS) is a ground-based scintillator array designed to measure the extended air showers of ultra-high energy cosmic rays. The goal of the project is to gain insight into the origin of ultra-high energy

THE LOCAL GROUP IN THE COSMIC WEB [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2015
We explore the characteristics of the cosmic web around Local Group(LG) like pairs using a cosmological simulation in the $Λ$CDM cosmology. We use the Hessian of the gravitational potential to classify regions on scales of $\sim 2$ Mpc as a peak, sheet, filament or void. The sample of LG counterparts is represented by two samples of halo pairs.

Magnetizing the Cosmic Web during Reionization

open access: yesGalaxies, 2018
Increasing evidence suggests that cosmological sheets, filaments, and voids may be substantially magnetized today. The origin of magnetic fields in the intergalactic medium (IGM) is, however, currently uncertain.
