The first discovery of a shocked, metasomatised CV3 chondrule‐fragment in a (Al,Cu)‐bearing micrometeorite

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract We report the discovery of the second (Al,Cu)‐alloy–bearing micrometeorite, FB‐A2, recovered from Mount Gariglione (southern Italy), representing the sixth such occurrence worldwide. Although chondritic in nature, FB‐A2 differs markedly from previously described microspherules.

Resolution of the cosmological constant problem by unimodular gravity and signature reversal symmetry

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
The (old) cosmological constant problem consists of two different problems. The first is the huge discrepancy between the value of the cosmological constant deduced from observations and its value expected from cosmological constant-like theoretical ...

Characterization of coesite‐bearing impact melt glass from the Hapcheon crater, Korea: Trimodal phase architecture, shock metamorphism, and implications for 40Ar/39Ar geochronology

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract We present the first micrometer‐scale, phase‐resolved compositional characterization of impact melt glass from the Hapcheon crater (~1.4 km apparent diameter), the first confirmed impact structure on the Korean Peninsula, integrating EPMA‐WDS (5 μm spot), confocal Raman spectroscopy (<1 μm spot), XRD, and 40Ar/39Ar step‐heating geochronology ...

Rational Ruijsenaars-Schneider model with cosmological constant

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The Ruijsenaars-Schneider models are integrable dynamical realizations of the Poincaré group in 1 + 1 dimensions, which reduce to the Calogero and Sutherland systems in the nonrelativistic limit.

Extracting vitalities: Cuts in Indigenous women's bodies‐territories (Brazil)

open access: yesMedical Anthropology Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract In this article, I explore the connections between the medicalization of childbirth and environmental devastation through Guarani‐Mbyá understandings of life and the living. I argue that the cuts made to Guarani‐Mbyá women's vaginas (episiotomies) in Brazilian hospitals are experienced and situated on the same cosmopolitical level as the cuts ...

THE FATHERS, COMPUTERS AND US

open access: yesModern Theology, EarlyView.
Abstract This essay, designed as a complement to opinions expressed by Rowan Williams and some speakers at the conference in his honour, explores features of early Christianity which suggest a positive evaluation of artificial intelligence. Noting that the fear of reducing humans to machines has been joined in the modern age by the fear that machines ...

Charged wormholes in (anti-)de Sitter spacetime

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We present a family of charged, traversable wormhole solutions in the presence of a cosmological constant. In de Sitter spacetime, two types of wormhole throats can exist–referred to as typical and cosmological throat–located at small and large radial ...

Theologies of Mind: Eriugena and Pratyabhijñā Śaivism

open access: yesModern Theology, EarlyView.
Abstract Though Eriugena's affinities with several Hindu traditions are clear, this article offers to my knowledge the first detailed discussion of Eriugena's theology in relation to any Indic theological school, here, the nondualist Śaiva tradition known as the Pratyabhijñā (“Recognition”) lineage.
