Confirming the impact origin of the São Miguel do Tapuio structure, northeastern Brazil
Abstract The São Miguel do Tapuio structure (SMT) is a remarkable, nearcircular feature of about 21 km diameter, centered at 5°37.6′ S, 41°23.3′ W in Piauí state, northeastern Brazil. The structure is located within the sedimentary strata of the Paleozoic–Mesozoic Parnaíba Basin and predominantly comprises sandstones of the Devonian Pimenteiras and ...

Abstract Terrestrial weathering alters the chemical and isotopic composition, and mineralogy, of meteorites; its effects on ordinary chondrites are well‐studied, but relatively little is known about the susceptibility of carbonaceous chondrites. We combined laboratory experiments, whereby Chwichiya 002 (C3‐ung find), Murchison (CM2 fall) and Kolang ...

An unsupervised machine learning approach to iron meteorite classification
Abstract Iron meteorites are usually classified manually using bivariate elemental plots. This study extends iron meteorite classification into multi‐element space. We present a computational method for the classification of iron meteorites by applying unsupervised machine learning using density‐based cluster analysis.

Geophysical investigation of the Santa Marta impact structure—Piauí State, Brazil
Abstract The Santa Marta impact structure in northeastern Brazil, recognized as a partially preserved complex crater, was investigated through an integrated geophysical study employing magnetotelluric (MT) and gravity methods. Our research provides constraints on the crater's subsurface architecture.

Cosmological parameters from weak cosmological lensing
In this manuscript of the habilitation diriger des recherches (HDR), the author presents some of his work over the last ten years. The main topic of this thesis is cosmic shear, the distortion of images of distant galaxies due to weak gravitational lensing by the large-scale structure in the Universe.

Cosmology with One Galaxy: Autoencoding the Galaxy Properties Manifold
Cosmological simulations like CAMELS and IllustrisTNG characterize hundreds of thousands of galaxies using various internal properties. Previous studies have demonstrated that machine learning can be used to infer the cosmological parameter Ω _m from the

The oldest Milky Way stars: New constraints on the age of the Universe and the Hubble constant
Aims. In this work, we exploit the most robust, old, and cosmology-independent age estimates of individual stars from Gaia DR3 to place a lower bound on the age of the Universe, tU.

Post-Newtonian parameters and cosmological constant of screened modified gravity
Screened modified gravity (SMG) is a kind of scalar-tensor theories with screening mechanisms, which can generate screening effect to suppress the fifth force in high density environments and pass the solar system tests.

Theologies of Mind: Eriugena and Pratyabhijñā Śaivism
Abstract Though Eriugena's affinities with several Hindu traditions are clear, this article offers to my knowledge the first detailed discussion of Eriugena's theology in relation to any Indic theological school, here, the nondualist Śaiva tradition known as the Pratyabhijñā (“Recognition”) lineage.
