Preference of Cosmopolites sordidus for fusarium wilt‐diseased banana plants

Journal of Applied Entomology, 2022
AbstractThe objective of this study was to understand the role of Cosmopolites sordidus in the dispersal of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense race 1 (Foc) and more specifically to determine whether C. sordidus is preferentially attracted to Foc‐contaminated banana plant material vs. Foc‐free material. The Humidity Behavior of Cosmopolites sordidus (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)

Annals of the Entomological Society of America, 1963
Adult banana root borers were exposed to various relative humidity gradients in small circular arenas and their distributions in the dry and wet halves of the gradient were recorded. Different humidities were provided over water, graded solutions of KOH, or “Drierite” (anhydrous CaSO4).
