Variational approach to regularity of optimal transport maps: general cost functions [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of PDE, Volume 7, August 2021, Article number 17, 2020
We extend the variational approach to regularity for optimal transport maps initiated by Goldman and the first author to the case of general cost functions. Our main result is an $\epsilon$-regularity result for optimal transport maps between H\"older continuous densities slightly more quantitative than the result by De Philippis-Figalli.

Economic analysis and optimization for bio-hydrogen production from oil palm waste via steam gasification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Biomass steam gasification with in-situ carbon dioxide capture using CaO exhibits good prospects for the production of hydrogen rich gas. In Malaysia, due to abundance of palm waste, it is a good candidate to be used as a feedstock for hydrogen ...

Choledochoscopy

open access: yesAnnals of Surgery, 1990
Although choledochoscopy for the prevention of retained bile duct stones has been postulated as cost effective, no economic evaluation exists to substantiate this claim. We performed a cost-minimization analysis on 287 patients who underwent choledochoscopy during operations for biliary tract calculi between 1981 and 1987 to assess the economic impact ...

A cost-minimization analysis of an RCT of three retention methods [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Journal of Orthodontics, 2013
There are few cost evaluation studies of orthodontic retention treatment. The aim of this study was to compare the costs in a randomized controlled trial of three retention methods during 2 years of retention treatment. To determine which alternative has the lower cost, a cost-minimization analysis (CMA) was undertaken, based on that the outcome of the ...

A Penny a Function: Towards Cost Transparent Cloud Programming [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Understanding and managing monetary cost factors is crucial when developing cloud applications. However, the diverse range of factors influencing costs for computation, storage, and networking in cloud applications poses a challenge for developers who want to manage and minimize costs proactively. Existing tools for understanding cost factors are often

Early correction of posterior crossbite--a cost-minimization analysis [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Journal of Orthodontics, 2011
There are few cost evaluation studies of orthodontic treatment. The aim of this study was to determine the costs of correcting posterior crossbites with Quad Helix (QH) or expansion plates (EPs) and to relate the costs to the effects. To determine which alternative has the lower cost, a cost-minimization analysis was undertaken, based on that the ...
