Endoscopic Posterior Cricoid Split and Costal Cartilage Graft Placement in Children
Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 2013Objectives To review a multi‐institutional experience using endoscopic posterior cricoid split and costal cartilage graft (EPCSCG) placement in the management of pediatric bilateral vocal fold immobility (BVFI), posterior glottic stenosis (PGS), and subglottic stenosis (SGS).

Double-Reversed Costal Cartilage Graft for Nasal Reconstruction
Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 2023Summary: Costal cartilage provides the ideal graft for reconstruction of the nasal dorsum and tip because of its abundant supply and flexural strength. Nevertheless, autologous costal cartilage grafts can experience warping. Several techniques have been devised to offset the intrinsic warping effects of cartilage, but current ...

Costal Cartilage and Costal Perichondrium Sandwich Graft in Septal Perforation Repair
Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2020Background: Repair of the septal perforation is a challenging procedure and there are many different surgical techniques. In this study, the authors present a novel method which the authors use costal cartilage and costal perichondrium sandwich graft as an interposition graft with bilateral opposing mucoperichondrial flaps.

Predicting Maximal Costal Cartilage Graft Size for Laryngotracheal Reconstruction
The Laryngoscope, 2021Objectives/HypothesisCurrent methods of assessing rib cartilage dimensions for laryngotracheal reconstruction (LTR) are inexact, making surgical planning difficult. The purpose of this study was to determine the most appropriate rib for costal cartilage graft LTR to minimize the number of ribs harvested and improve surgical outcomes.Study ...

Multilayered Costal Cartilage Graft for Nasal Dorsal Augmentation
Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 2020Nasal dorsal augmentation is one of the most commonly performed rhinoplasty procedures in Asia. We describe our experience with multilayered costal cartilage grafting (MCG) for dorsal augmentation in Asian patients. We aimed to evaluate the aesthetic outcomes and complications of MCG in comparison with those of one-block concentric carving costal ...

Chimeric Autologous Costal Cartilage Graft to Prevent Warping
Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 2014Carved autologous costal cartilage is widely used in different rhinoplasty procedures because of its availability and proven advantages. However, the usefulness of rib grafts is limited by warping postoperatively. The chimeric autologous costal cartilage graft is proposed.

Irradiated costal cartilage graft in experimental laryngotracleal reconstruction
International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, 1988Autogenous costal cartilage graft has been employed successfully to correct subglottic stenosis. In an effort to reduce the morbidity and operative time, the use of irradiated homologous costal cartilage was investigated. Irradiated homologous grafting was performed to the subglottic region of 37 young New Zealand rabbits.

The Versatile Autogenous Costal Cartilage Graft in Septorhinoplasty
Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery, 2002Secondary septorhinoplasty often requires a large amount of tissue, and autogenous costal cartilage is one type of grafting material that can be used in these cases. In this study, 20 patients with severe nasal deformity received autogenous costal cartilage grafts. Nineteen of the 20 cases were revisions.
