Engineering External Memory LCP Array Construction: Parallel, In-Place and Large Alphabet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The suffix array augmented with the LCP array is perhaps the most important data structure in modern string processing. There has been a lot of recent research activity on constructing these arrays in external memory.

Results of the enumeration of Costas arrays of order 29

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics of Communications, 2011
The results of the enumeration of Costas arrays of order 29 are presented: except for 16 arrays out of a total of 164, all other arrays found are accounted for by the Golomb and Welch construction methods. These 16 arrays, however, cannot be considered to be new, as they were discovered in the past through a semi-empirical technique.

Recent Advances in Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in Integrated Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This review systematically surveys recent advances in stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) within integrated photonics. It begins by elucidating the fundamental mechanisms of stimulated coupling between photons and acoustic phonons in nanoscale waveguides, enhanced by the photoelastic and moving boundary effects.

Guiding and Manipulating Light Fields in Microstructured Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This review summarizes recent advances in guided‐wave optics enabled by microstructured liquid crystal (LC) devices, covering their fundamental material properties, key degree of freedom for dynamic light field manipulations. The advances of linear guided‐wave optics, nonlinear‐optics with spatial optical solitons, and microlasers in LC‐based devices ...

Design and implementation of a costas loop down converter in FPGA

open access: yes, 2009
This paper presents the the design of a digital down converter (DDC) using a digital Costas loop in a field programmable gate array (FPGA). The designed DDC is one of the modules in the receiver of the base station in a wireless local positioning systems

Skeletal pathologies in extant crocodilians as a window into the paleopathology of fossil archosaurs

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Crocodilians, together with birds, are the only extant relatives to many extinct archosaur groups, making them highly important for interpreting paleopathological conditions in a phylogenetic disease bracketing model. Despite this, comprehensive data on osteopathologies in crocodilians remain scarce.

An osteohistological analysis of Triceratops (Ornithischia: Ceratopsidae) cranial ornamentation

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Ceratopsids are among the most distinctive and well known extinct Cretaceous vertebrates, yet many details regarding the growth and composition of their cranial features are still not fully anatomically described or understood. In particular, striking cranial adornments such as the postorbital horns and parietal‐squamosal frill of Triceratops ...

MIMO radar beampattern design by using Phased-Costas waveforms with PAR constraints employing a generalized ambiguity function

open access: yes, 2023
Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radars have attracted interest due to some important advantages over Phased-array radars. The diversity that comes with multiple waveforms is used to maximize the power in the vicinity of targets and minimize the ...

An unusual titanosaur axis from the Upper Cretaceous of Brazil and its significance for sauropod anatomy and systematics

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The Upper Cretaceous São José do Rio Preto Formation (Bauru Group, southeastern Brazil) has yielded a fragmentary but taxonomically diverse record of titanosaur sauropods, although elements from cervical series remain scarce. Here, we describe a nearly complete sauropod axis from the Vila Ventura Paleontological Area, representing an uncommon ...
