Distribution of isoflavones and antioxidant activities of soybean cotyledon, coat and germ [PDF]
Soy isoflavones in the cotyledon, coat and germ of four soybean varieties from the southern U.S.A. were determined and compared. Isoflavones with aglycone, daidzein, genistein, glycitein and aglycone, withβ-glucoside, genistin, daidzin and glycitin, were

Bacteriomes, cryptic forms and evolution of a common wireworm pest species, Hypnoidus bicolor
Wireworms are important agricultural pests, including Hypnoidus bicolor in the Canadian Prairies. Parthenogenetic and sexual populations of H. bicolor appear associated with different molecular clades. Bacterial community composition and structure were influenced by developmental stage, sampling location and host genetics.

Auxin response and PIN‐mediated transport in chlorophyte algae
Like multicellular plants, green algae respond to auxin and move it across their cells. However, their PIN‐like proteins do not act like plant auxin exporters, suggesting that basic auxin transport evolved early and specialized directional transport appeared later in plant evolution.

ATXR5 and ATXR6 restrict meiotic crossover formation within heterochromatin in Arabidopsis
The Arabidopsis H3K27 mono‐methyltransferases ATXR5 and ATXR6 repress crossovers within meiotic heterochromatin, are required for heterochromatin condensation and H3K27me1 establishment, and specifically influence the maintenance of DNA methylation in meiocytes.
