Metarhizium anisopliae Mitigates the Phytotoxicity of Lead and Nanoplastics on Rice by Modifying Physiological, Transcriptomic, Metabolomic Activities, and Soil Microbiome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Metarhizium anisopliae alleviates the phytotoxic effects of polyethylene nanoplastics (NP) and lead (Pb) in rice by decreasing Pb uptake, restoring antioxidant and hormonal equilibrium, and promoting growth. Additionally, the fungus modifies the rhizosphere microbiota, enhancing both contaminant tolerance and plant growth, thereby effectively ...

One‐Step Glycoengineering of NK Cells With High‐Affinity Siglec Ligands for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops an engineered NmCSS enzyme with improved activity for bulky group modified sialic acids, enabling efficient synthesis of structurally diverse sialoside analogs in a single step. Glycan microarray screening identified Siglec high‐affinity ligands, which were incorporated onto natural killer (NK) cells via a one‐pot enzymatic system ...

Illuminating Mitochondrial RNA G‐Quadruplexes as Structural Brakes on RNA Granule Assembly and OXPHOS

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new fluorescent probe, MitoQUMA, brings mitochondrial RNA G‐quadruplexes (mtRNA G4s) into view in live cells. This tool reveals that excessive mtRNA G4 formation halts mitochondrial RNA granule (MRG) assembly, opposite to the phase‐separation role of cytoplasmic RNA G4s. A chemical genetic screen further identifies a Wnt/β‐catenin–GRSF1–mtRNA G4 axis

Coumarins and P450s, Studies Reported to-Date

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYPs) are important phase I enzymes involved in the metabolism of endogenous and xenobiotic compounds mainly through mono-oxygenation reactions into more polar and easier to excrete species.

Synthesis and complete NMR spectral assignments of new benzylamino coumarin derivative [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of Natural Sciences Research, 2020
This research involves the reaction of 4-chloro-3-nitrocoumarin and (4-methoxyphenyl)methanamine, whereby a novel coumarin derivative 4-[(4-methoxybenzyl) amino]-3-nitro-2H-chromen-2-one was obtained in good yield.

Synthesis of 3-(Imidazo[2,1-b]thiazol-6-yl)-2H-chromen-2-one Derivatives and Study of Their Antiviral Activity against Parvovirus B19

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Parvovirus B19 (B19V) is a human pathogenic virus associated with a wide range of clinical conditions. Currently, there are no recognized antiviral drugs for B19V treatment; therefore, efforts in the search for compounds inhibiting B19V replication are ...
