Counter-Rotating Savonius Wind Turbine

The mathematical model of a small-scale counter-rotating Savonius wind turbine is constructed and studied. Rotors are located one above the other. Their shafts are coaxial. The shaft of one Savonius rotor carries the rotor of an electric generator, and the shaft of the other carries the stator of the same generator.

Counter rotating STOL discs

A ROTATING PLASTIC DISC, such as a Frisbee, indicates high lift coefficients. To examine this phenomenon, experimental research was conducted, using a specially‐constructed rotating water tank. Test results demonstrated both lift increase and drag decrease for rotating discs compared to values for nonrotating discs.
