Nonlinear stability of counter-rotating vortices
Physics of Fluids, 1994Recently, Mallier and Maslowe [Phys. Fluids A 5, 1074 (1993)] found an exact nonlinear solution of the inviscid, incompressible, two-dimensional Navier–Stokes equations, representing an infinite row of counter-rotating vortices, which extended the previous Kelvin–Stuart vortices.

Counter-Rotation in Dust-Lane Ellipticals
1990The class of dust-lane ellipticals is characterized by the presence of a lane of absorbing matter which crosses an elliptical-like galaxy body. The dust lane consists of gas and dust and appears ring-like or as a narrow disk seen edge-on. Bertola & Galletta (1978) pointed out the case of minor-axis dust-lane ellipticals, NGC 5128 (Cen A) being a ...

Counter-Rotating Disks in Galaxies
Counter-rotation is a phenomenon found in some galaxies; it happens when a counter-rotating disk which rotates in an opposite direction to the main disk is found. There have been many suggestions explaining the evolution of galaxies with this feature. Mainly, it has been theorized that an accretion of gas or stars due to merging or acquiring material ...openaire +1 more source
