Occupational Licensing and Psychologist Supply
ABSTRACT Does reducing interstate licensing barriers increase the supply of mental health providers? We study this question using the U.S. Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), which allows psychologists to practice across state lines via telemedicine without obtaining additional state licenses.

Evaluation of a Partial Ban on Rx‐Rebates in Germany
ABSTRACT We investigate patients' price sensitivity for prescription (Rx) drugs with regards to patronizing online or brick‐and‐mortar pharmacies. In doing so, we exploit a policy change in Germany that prohibited online pharmacies from granting rebates to one part of the population, the members of the statutory health insurance scheme.

The Effects of Compulsory Licensing: A Case Study of HIV Drugs
ABSTRACT Compulsory licensing is a legal mechanism that allows governments the use of patented medicines without the owner's consent, subject to conditions and compensation, to meet public‐health needs. Despite its policy relevance and increasing use, empirical evidence on its market effects remains limited.

Designing new polymers for applications such as sustainable plastics, biomaterials, and 3D printing has traditionally been slow and expensive, relying heavily on trial‐and‐error experiments. This review shows how polymer informatics—the integration of large polymer databases, machine‐learning models, and automated robotic synthesis—enables fast ...

A Joint Test of Unconfoundedness and Common Trends
ABSTRACT We introduce an overidentification test of two alternative assumptions to identify the average treatment effect on the treated in a two‐period panel data setting: unconfoundedness and common trends. Under unconfoundedness, treatment assignment and post‐treatment outcomes are independent, conditional on control variables and pre‐treatment ...

Bayesian Model Averaging in Causal Instrumental Variable Models
ABSTRACT Instrumental variables are a popular tool to infer causal effects under unobserved confounding, but choosing suitable instruments is challenging in practice. We propose gIVBMA, a Bayesian model averaging procedure that addresses this challenge by averaging across different sets of instrumental variables and covariates in a structural equation ...
