Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Highly-efficient state-selective sub-microsecond photoionization detection of single atoms

open access: yes, 2010
We experimentally demonstrate a detection scheme suitable for state analysis of single optically trapped atoms in less than 1 {\mu}s with an overall detection efficiency {\eta} exceeding 98%.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

TasselNetv2: in-field counting of wheat spikes with context-augmented local regression networks

open access: yesPlant Methods, 2019
Background Grain yield of wheat is greatly associated with the population of wheat spikes, i.e., $$spike~number~\text {m}^{-2}$$ spikenumberm-2 . To obtain this index in a reliable and efficient way, it is necessary to count wheat spikes accurately and ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Comparison of the efficacy of biodegradable and non-biodegradable scintillation liquids on the counting of tritium- and [14C]-labeled compounds

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2003
The widespread use of ³H and 14C in research has generated a large volume of waste mixed with scintillation liquid, requiring an effective control and appropriate storage of liquid radioactive waste.

Efficient and precise cell counting for RNAi screening of Orientia tsutsugamushi infection using deep learning techniques

open access: yesIntelligent Systems with Applications
Acquiring fluorescent scrub typhus images obtained through RNA interference screening for the analysis of 60 different human genes and 18 control genes poses challenges due to nonuniform or clumped cells and variations in image quality, rendering image ...

Efficient Algorithms for Counting Gapped Palindromes.

open access: yes, 2021
A gapped palindrome is a string uvu^{R}, where u^{R} represents the reverse of string u. In this paper we show three efficient algorithms for counting the occurrences of gapped palindromes in a given string S of length N. First, we present a solution in O(N) time for counting all gapped palindromes without additional constraints.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
