Reduction of proximity losses in coupled inductors
IEE Proceedings B: Electric Power Applications, 1991The authors present an investigation into the leakage fields and eddy current losses in the windings of inductors and coupled inductors used in high frequency applications. They show that the eddy current losses in the windings can be reduced significantly by the use of distributed airgaps, and that under these conditions the leakage fields are ...

Introduction to modeling of transformers and coupled inductors
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1995A tutorial paper is presented on modeling and design of transformers and coupled inductors. Beginning with a brief review of electromagnetic laws and magnetic circuit models, the magnetic and electric models of transformers and coupled inductors are developed, including both magnetizing and leakage effects.

Coupled Inductors Analysis with Saturation and Thermal Effects
2020 27th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (ICECS), 2020This paper discusses the analysis of Coupled Inductors (CIs) in Switch-Mode Power Supplies (SMPSs), with saturation and thermal effects. A Single-Ended Primary Inductor Converter (SEPIC) topology is considered as a case study and a numerical procedure is proposed to reliably evaluate the CI windings current waveforms, including the effects of the real ...

Investigation of MMIC inductor coupling effects
1997 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 1997The coupling effects of two closely placed coplanar spiral inductors are investigated using the FDTD method. Different configurations of two inductors are simulated and the simulation results are compared with measurements. The investigations show an unexpected high impact of the orientation of the coils to the coupling of the two inductors.

Switched-coupled-inductor inverter
2013 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2013A new family of switched-coupled-inductor inverters has been proposed in this paper, with voltage buck-boost function. In voltage-fed switched-coupled-inductor inverter, a boost function can be implemented by introducing an extra shoot-through state on the inverter bridge.

An SIMO Step-Down Converter with Coupled Inductor
2020 International Symposium on VLSI Design, Automation and Test (VLSI-DAT), 2020Power management IC have been widely used, and due to the development of the process, the number of transistors on the same area has grown, resulting in more sets of output requirements. The single-inductor multi-output power converter not only meets the requirements of multiple sets of voltages today, but also greatly reduces the area and cost of the ...

COUPLED INDUCTORS-BASED CHAOTIC COLPITTS OSCILLATOR
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2011In this paper, a new chaotic circuit is introduced, conceived by considering a Colpitts oscillator with the inclusion of two further elements: a coupled inductor and a variable resistor. The proposed circuit exhibits a rich dynamics that has been experimentally characterized through the bifurcation diagram with respect to the resistor value.

Coupled-inductor analysis and design
1986 17th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1986A new coupled-inductor multiple air-gap structure is proposed and analyzed. These EI and EE core configurations eliminate many of the problems associated with the earlier single air-gap structures such as: high sensitivity of ripple currents to air-gap and/or turns ratio changes, complex winding arrangements and consequent high costs and inferior ...
