Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Intermolecular Interactions as Driving Force of Increasing Multiphoton Absorption in a Perylene Diimide‐Based Coordination Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Multistability and anomalies in oscillator models of lossy power grids

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Dissipatively coupled oscillators, describing lossy flows in power grids, are challenging to analyze due to asymmetry of couplings. Here, Delabays et al.

Asymptotic Dynamics of a Class of Coupled Oscillators Driven by White Noises

open access: yes, 2012
This paper is devoted to the study of the asymptotic dynamics of a class of coupled second order oscillators driven by white noises. It is shown that any system of such coupled oscillators with positive damping and coupling coefficients possesses a ...

Synchronization in arrays of coupled self-induced friction oscillators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We investigate synchronization phenomena in systems of self-induced dry friction oscillators with kinematic excitation coupled by linear springs. Friction force is modelled according to exponential model. Initially, a single degree of freedom mass-spring

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Inhibition of spikes in an array of coupled FitzHugh–Nagumo oscillators by external periodic forcing

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2017
Damping of spikes in an array of coupled oscillators by injection of sinusoidal current is studied both electronically and numerically. The effect is investigated using an array consisting of thirty mean-field coupled FitzHugh–Nagumo-type oscillators ...

Chimera states: The Existence Criteria Revisited

open access: yes, 2014
Chimera states, representing a spontaneous break-up of a population of identical oscillators that are identically coupled, into sub-populations displaying synchronized and desynchronized behavior, have traditionally been found to exist in weakly coupled ...

Band Alignment in In‐Oxo Metal Porphyrin SURMOF Heterojunctions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Porphyrin core metalation in indium‑oxo SURMOFs enables systematic tuning of band edge positions without altering the crystal structure. First‑principles calculations reveal type‑I and type‑II heterostructures as well as multi‑junction energy cascades, establishing a modular strategy for exciton funneling and charge separation in optoelectronic ...
