Filtering Methods for Coupled Inverse Problems

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems, 2023
We are interested in ensemble methods to solve multi-objective optimization problems. An ensemble Kalman method is proposed to solve a formulation of the nonlinear problem using a weighted function approach. An analysis of the mean field limit of the ensemble method yields an explicit update formula for the weights. Numerical examples show the improved

On coupled systems of Lidstone-type boundary value problems

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2021
This research concerns the existence and location of solutions for coupled system of differential equations with Lidstone-type boundary conditions. Methodology used utilizes three fundamental aspects: upper and lower solutions method, degree theory and ...

Well-Posedness Scheme for Coupled Fixed-Point Problems Using Generalized Contractions

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
In this study, we present a more general class of rational-type contractions in the domain of Hilbert spaces, along with a novel coupled implicit relation.

Axisymmetric particle-element coupled method for deformation problems of geomaterial

open access: yesSoils and Foundations, 2022
Although grid-based particle methods are widely used for engineering deformation problems, due to their robustness in large deformation analyses, the computational cost of these methods is quite high compared with mesh-based methods.

Three-Point Boundary Value Problems of Coupled Nonlocal Laplacian Equations

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
This paper discusses a kind of coupled nonlocal Laplacian evolution equation with Caputo time-fractional derivatives and proportional delays. Green function and mild solution are firstly established by employing the approach of eigenvalues’ expansions ...

An Alternative Multi-Physics-Based Methodology for Strongly Coupled Electro-Magneto-Mechanical Problems

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2023
The analysis of complex systems tends to be approached through a separation and a simplification of the main macro phenomena and, thus, addressed through dedicated techniques, tools, and algorithms.

Erectile dysfunction: a couple problem [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Family Planning and Reproductive Health Care, 2007
Background It used to be called ‘impotence’: a double-edged label, with its implication not only that the man is unable to persuade blood into his penis, but also that he’s powerless in sexual situations, in the relationship arena, and in life. The word was never just a medical description; it always held undertones of accusation – a word to be hurled ...

Adaptation in coupled problems [PDF]

open access: yesCOMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2010
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to address the formulation, implementation, and adaptation of closely coupled multi‐physics problems withh‐ andp‐adaptive finite element methods. A general formulation is chosen allowing for coupled problems of various types.
