Semiclassical solutions for linearly coupled Schrodinger equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
We consider the system of coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equations $$\displaylines{ -\varepsilon^2\Delta u+a(x) u=H_{u}(x, u, v)+\mu(x) v, \quad x\in \mathbb{R}^N,\cr -\varepsilon^2\Delta v+b(x) v=H_{v}(x, u, v)+\mu(x) u, \quad x\in \mathbb{R}^N,\cr

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Numerical Scheme for Solution of Coupled System of Initial Value Fractional Order Fredholm Integro-Differential Equations with Smooth Solutions

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Extension, 2015
We study shifted Legendre polynomials and develop some operational matrices of integrations. We use these operational matrices and develop new sophisticated technique for numerical solutions to the following coupled system of fredholm integro ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Scheduling of coupled tasks and one-machine no-wait robotic cells

open access: yes, 2009
Coupled task scheduling problems were first studied morethan 25 years ago. Several complexity results have beenestablished in the meantime, but the status of the identical task case still remains unsettled.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Robust synchronization of a class of coupled delayed networks with multiple stochastic disturbances: The continuous-time case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, the robust synchronization problem is investigated for a new class of continuous-time complex networks that involve parameter uncertainties, time-varying delays, constant and delayed couplings, as well as multiple stochastic disturbances.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Design and Vibration Suppression Performance of a Coupled Isolation System for Marine Rotary Pump Units

open access: yesApplied Sciences
To address the need for high-efficiency vibration isolation in marine rotary pump units, this paper proposes a coupled isolation system that integrates vibration isolators and flexible connectors, and systematically investigates its vibration suppression
