Transmission Line Theory for Field-to-Transmission Line Coupling Calculations
Electromagnetics, 1988The paper discusses basic principles and validity limits of the field-to-transmission line coupling calculating using Transmission Line (TL) theory. Attention is given to the EMP-power lines interaction. A review of the fundamental equations and method of solution is given, considering that two equivalent formulations are possible.

In this paper we describe broadband branch-line couplers with very loose coupling at X-band. The proposed branch-line couplers consist of short-/open-circuited coupled-transmission lines as a pair of branch-lines and external matching networks.

Synthesis of coupled transmission lines
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, 1997In this paper an important property of the time responses of coupled transmission lines is proven. Based on this property coupled transmission lines are synthesized from the given near-end and far-end time-domain responses. The inductance matrix L and capacitance matrix C of uniformly coupled lossless lines can be obtained from the responses without ...

Asymmetric coupled transmission lines with anisotropic coupling
IEEE International Digest on Microwave Symposium, 2002The characteristics of asymmetric coupled transmission lines are derived for the case of general anisotropic coupling, special cases of which are certain geometries of anisotropic materials or from distributed active devices. In addition to deriving the terminal characteristics for the uniform coupled-line, four-port case with anisotropic coupling, it ...

Coupling of pulsed electromagnetic fields to transmission lines
International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - EMC EUROPE, 2012In this paper, electromagnetic quantities (such as currents and voltages on irradiated transmission lines) are described in time domain, as they typically occur in resonant systems. Electric oscillating circuits and transmission lines are considered resonators.

The surge coupling to transmission lines
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. 1996 Digest, 2002In this paper, the surge coupling characteristics on a lossy transmission line are discussed. The rules of using the Laplace transformation are given. Discussions about the characteristics of time signals on a transmission line are given. The time domain solution is discussed.

Analysis of the capacitive coupling of Josephson transmission lines
Journal of Applied Physics, 1989We study the capacitive coupling of two long Josephson junctions by imposing appropriate boundary conditions at the ends of the junctions. Numerical simulations show good agreement with analytical estimates of the parameter range for which reflections of fluxons at the coupled end of the junction occur.

Coupled transmission lines revisited
IEEE Transactions on Education, 1988The author presents a very satisfying and disarmingly simple way of introducing students to the parallel line coupler, which derives its S matrix directly from a knowledge of its eigenvectors and eigenvalues. For a pair of symmetrical coupled lines, the eigenvectors can be found by inspection, and the eigenvalues determined easily by means of flow ...
