Magnetization relaxation in (Ga,Mn)As ferromagnetic semiconductors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We describe a theory of Mn local-moment magnetization relaxation due to p-d kinetic-exchange coupling with the itinerant-spin subsystem in the ferromagnetic semiconductor (Ga,Mn)As alloy.

The Influences of Environmental Factors on the Microwave Scattering Coefficient from the Sea Surface

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The relationship between the microwave scattering coefficient from the sea surface and wind field has been extensively studied. Nevertheless, recent research on air–sea coupling has shown that sea–air temperature difference (SATD) also significantly ...

Scattering of Electromagnetic Waves on Different Dielectric Resonators of the Microwave Filters

open access: yesVìsnik Nacìonalʹnogo Tehnìčnogo Unìversitetu Ukraïni Kììvsʹkij Polìtehnìčnij Ìnstitut: Serìâ Radìotehnìka, Radìoaparatobuduvannâ, 2017
The theory of scattering of electromagnetic waves by systems of various coupled the different shape and variant permittivity dielectric resonators is expanded. A new definition of the coupling coefficients of different dielectric resonators is given. The

A solution to the 4-tachyon off-shell amplitude in cubic string field theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We derive an analytic series solution of the elliptic equations providing the 4-tachyon off-shell amplitude in cubic string field theory (CSFT). From such a solution we compute the exact coefficient of the quartic effective action relevant for time ...

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Coupling coefficients of the disk dielectric microresonators with whispering gallery modes

open access: yesVìsnik Nacìonalʹnogo Tehnìčnogo Unìversitetu Ukraïni Kììvsʹkij Polìtehnìčnij Ìnstitut: Serìâ Radìotehnìka, Radìoaparatobuduvannâ, 2015
Calculation results of the Disk dielectric microresonators coupling coefficients are presented. Microresonator coupling coefficients as a functions of main parameters is considered.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Interfacial thermal transport in atomic junctions

open access: yes, 2011
We study ballistic interfacial thermal transport across atomic junctions. Exact expressions for phonon transmission coefficients are derived for thermal transport in one-junction and two-junction chains, and verified by numerical calculation based on a ...

Wavy Wilson Line and AdS/CFT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Wilson loops which are small deviations from straight, infinite lines, called wavy lines, are considered in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence. A single wavy line and the connected correlation function of a straight and wavy line are considered ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
