Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Streaming potential coupling coefficient in unsaturated carbonate rocks [PDF]
International audienceThe seismoelectric and self-potential methods are showing promises to characterize both the vadose zone of the Earth, hydrocarbon reservoirs and CO2 sequestration. That said, the dependence of a key parameter, the streaming coupling

A New Modified Model of the Streaming Potential Coupling Coefficient Depends on Structural Parameters of Soil-Rock Mixture [PDF]
The streaming potential effect in soil-rock mixture (SRM) is related to the compactness and rock content, but there is no model to quantitatively describe this behavior.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Analysis of the Coupling Coefficient in Inductive Energy Transfer Systems [PDF]
In wireless energy transfer systems, the energy is transferred from a power source to an electrical load without the need of physical connections. In this scope, inductive links have been widely studied as a way of implementing these systems.

High-Order Harmonic Currents Analysis for Accurate Coupling Coefficient Extraction in Multi-Transmitter Wireless Power Transfer System [PDF]
This paper proposes an improved coupling coefficient extraction method considering the high-order harmonic component of the input current in a multi-transmitter wireless power transfer(WPT) system.

Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network
Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.

Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have
