Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.

We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Optimizing Coupling Region as Sensing Area in Optical Ring Resonator Sensor Applications
Optical Ring Resonators (ORR), whether based on fiber optics or an optical micro ring on substrate structures have been studied and explored extensively to be used for optical sensor applications.

We study the coherent transport of single photon in a one-dimensional coupled-resonator-array, "non-locally" coupled to a two-level system. Since its inherent structure is a Mach-Zehnder interferometer, we explain the destructive interference phenomenon ...

Color Routing and Beam Steering of Single‐Molecule Emission with a Spherical Silicon Nanoantenna
We experimentally demonstrate broadband directional emission from single molecules using a single spherical silicon nanoparticle assembled via DNA origami. By varying nanoparticle (NP) size and emitter position, we achieve unidirectional emission, beam steering, and color routing at the nanoscale, revealing modal interference as the underlying ...

Tunable capacitor arrays of coalesced resonators for dispersion control
In this work, the coupling and dispersion characteristics of coalesced resonators as a function of their capacitance is investigated, with the goal of developing novel ways of dispersion control. When planar resonators are coalesced and their shared side

Modelling of Pulse Propagation in Nonlinear Photonic Structures [PDF]
Jednou z

Tension mediated nonlinear coupling between orthogonal mechanical modes of nanowire resonators
We study the nonlinear coupling between orthogonal flexural modes of doubly clamped InAs nanowire resonators. The two orthogonal modes are formed by the symmetry breaking and lifting of degeneracy of the fundamental mode.

Beyond the Edge: Charge‐Transfer Excitons in Organic Donor‐Acceptor Cocrystals
Complex excitonic landscapes in acene–perfluoroacene cocrystals are unveiled by polarization‐resolved optical spectroscopy and many‐body theory. This systematic study of a prototypical model system for weakly interacting donor–acceptor compounds challenges common views of charge‐transfer excitons, providing a refined conceptual framework for ...

Active mid-infrared ring resonators
High-quality optical ring resonators can confine light in a small volume and store it for millions of roundtrips. They have enabled the dramatic size reduction from laboratory scale to chip level of optical filters, modulators, frequency converters, and ...
