Coupling-length trimming by metal loading in optical coupled-waveguides
Optical and Quantum Electronics, 1981A simple method for adjusting light coupling between two waveguides is presented. The method involves trimming the interaction length by loading a metal film on to one of the coupled-waveguides. It is effective only for the TM mode, and trimming can be achieved very simply.

Ferrite coupled-line circulator with reduced length
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2005A method to design a circulator based on a ferrite coupled line (FCL) with reduced length is presented.
