After using this huckleberry patch layer to model habitat selection, fitness, and density, in a bottom‐up top‐down paradigm, we found that huckleberry patches near forestry roads contribute very little to fitness and density.

Journal of Animal Ecology, Volume 92, Issue 10, Page 1954-1965, October 2023., 2023 The authors tested whether animals dynamically balance risks and rewards in the context of road crossings. Using extensive field‐based and GPS data from elk in Yoho National Park, the authors demonstrate that animals can modulate their selection for foraging resources with the risks they experience relative to roads while travelling.

Floral composition and diversity of the lagos coastal environment, South‐Western, Nigeria
African Journal of Ecology, Volume 61, Issue 1, Page 37-47, March 2023., 2023 Abstract The present study investigates the floral diversity of the Lagos coastal environments by sampling 21 points using the quadrat method. The study revealed two major aquatic ecosystem types (mangrove and freshwater swamp) and recorded 125 species belonging to 108 genera and 49 families.

Biotropica, Volume 54, Issue 3, Page 656-669, May 2022., 2022 Western chimpanzees effectively disperse the seeds of Saba senegalensis, an important uncultivated commodity and food resource for people in Senegal. They promote germination success of ditto seeds through a beneficial gut treatment of seeds and by dispersing seeds disproportionately to habitats that are conducive to seed germination.

Ecological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 2, Issue 3, July–September 2021., 2021 Increasing the diversity of cover crops in vineyards enhanced the abundance of natural enemies by 140% overall. Predation rates of an important moth pest also increased, particularly in simple landscapes (from 20 to 50% of semi‐natural habitats in a 1 km radius around each field).
