When Dimensionality Reduction Meets Graph (Drawing) Theory: Introducing a Common Framework, Challenges and Opportunities

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract In the vast landscape of visualization research, Dimensionality Reduction (DR) and graph analysis are two popular subfields, often essential to most visual data analytics setups. DR aims to create representations to support neighborhood and similarity analysis on complex, large datasets.

From farms to tables: Quantifying the effect of emissions pricing on Canadian food prices

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Agricultural Economics/Revue canadienne d'agroeconomie, EarlyView.

Using constructed value of information to evaluate research needs in conservation strategy assumptions

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, EarlyView.
Conservation professionals often consider causal assumptions that connect strategic actions to results. Uncertainty in agricultural conservation assumptions was evaluated on three constructed value of information metrics: evidence, relevance, and reducibility. A sub‐set of assumptions was prioritized for learning‐based management.

Reducing the replication time for structural estimations: A successful replication of “An Anatomy of International Trade” using GPU computing

open access: yesEconomic Inquiry, Volume 63, Issue 2, Page 424-440, April 2025.
Abstract Eaton, Kortum, and Kramarz (2011) (EKK) discovered empirical patterns from French manufacturing firms that a baseline firm heterogeneity model could not explain. The authors proposed and estimated a model that closely matches the patterns observed in French data.
