Development of PCR, LAMP and HRM‐Based Molecular Species Diagnostic Tools for Identifying Four Agricultural Pests in the Genus Helicoverpa (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, Volume 150, Issue 7, Page 900-913, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Within the subfamily Heliothinae, the genus Helicoverpa comprises several highly destructive agricultural pests, including H. armigera, H. assulta, H. punctigera and H. zea. These species cause significant global crop losses due to their wide host range, long‐distance migratory behaviour, and potential for interspecific hybridization.

COX1 and COX2 polymorphisms and gastric cancer risk in a Polish population.

open access: yesAnticancer research, 2007
Although a number of studies on the polymorphisms in COX1 and COX2 genes in association with risks for a number of cancers have been conducted, their relation to gastric cancer has not been well studied.Genotypes of several variants in both COX1 (Ex7+31 C>A and Ex10-4 G>A) and COX2 (-765 G>C, Ex10+837 T>C, Ex10-90 C>T, IVS5-275 T>G, and IVS7+111 T>C ...

Three New Mitochondrial Genomes of Neritidae (Gastropoda, Neritimorpha) From China and Insights Into Their Phylogenetic Position

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study reports the newly assembled complete mitochondrial genomes for three neritid snails from China: Smaragdia rangiana, Neripteron pileolus, and Vittina cumingiana. Our phylogenetic analyses not only resolved their evolutionary positions within the established two‐subfamily framework but also identified several mislabeled public sequences ...

Fasciola gigantica of Ruminants: The phylogenetic analysis based on COX1 sequences

open access: yesIranian Journal of Veterinary Medicine, 2017
BACKGROUND: Fasciola species are parasitic trematode with world wide distribution that infects wild and domesticated herbivores, particularly ruminants. The aim of the present study was to investigate the intra species variations of F. gigantica, from goats and buffalos isolates in two common geographic climates of Iran.

Multi‐Marker Mitochondrial Analysis Reveals Genetic Diversity and Phylogenetic Relationships of Black Sea Sturgeons (Acipenseridae)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 7, July 2026.
Sturgeons are an important species due to their complex genetic structure and evolutionary characteristics. Unfortunately, they are threatened with extinction due to illegal and overfishing, as well as the loss of their natural habitats. In our work, we examine the genetic diversity of four sturgeon species that inhabit the Black Sea basin and its ...
