Expression and DNA methylation of 20S proteasome subunits as prognostic and resistance markers in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Comprehensive analysis of genomic mutations, gene expression, DNA methylation, and pathway analysis of TCGA data was carried out to define cancer types in which proteasome subunits expression is associated with worse survival. Albeit the effect of specific proteasome subunits on cellular function, the main role of the proteasome is better evaluated ...

Detecting homologous recombination deficiency for breast cancer through integrative analysis of genomic data

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

Cox regression in the problem of risky behavior parameter estimation based on the last episodes’ data

open access: yesSt. Petersburg Polytechnical University Journal: Physics and Mathematics, 2021
The article suggests an extension and refinement of the existing model for incomplete estimation of the person’s behavior characteristics using several last episodes of his risky behavior and including individual characteristics and other factors, in ...

Inference on Counterfactual Distributions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Counterfactual distributions are important ingredients for policy analysis and decomposition analysis in empirical economics. In this article we develop modeling and inference tools for counterfactual distributions based on regression methods.

Data‐driven discovery of gene expression markers distinguishing pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia subtypes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates gene expression differences between two major pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) subtypes, B‐cell precursor ALL, and T‐cell ALL, using a data‐driven approach consisting of biostatistics and machine learning methods. Following analysis of a discovery dataset, we find a set of 14 expression markers differentiating the ...

Immunohistochemical Expression of Five Protein Combinations Revealed as Prognostic Markers in Asian Oral Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2021
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) has a high mortality rate (∼50%), and the 5-year overall survival rate is not optimal. Cyto- and histopathological examination of cancer tissues is the main strategy for diagnosis and treatment.

Two Survival Tree Models for Myocardial Infarction Patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
In the search of a better prognostic survival model for post-acute myocardial infarction patients, the scientists at the Technical University of Munich's "Klinikum rechts der Isar" and the German Heart Center in Munich have developed some new parameters ...

Comprehensive omics‐based classification system in adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The COMBAT classification system, developed through multi‐omics integration, stratifies adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(B‐ALL) into three molecular subtypes with distinct surface antigen patterns, immune landscape, methylation patterns, biological pathways and prognosis.

Identification of a 3-Gene Model as Prognostic Biomarker in Patients With Gastric Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2022
ObjectiveAlthough the incidence of gastric cancer (GC) is decreasing, GC remains one of the leading cancers in the world. Surgical resection, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and neoadjuvant therapy have advanced, but patients still face the risk of ...
