CQF Magma package

ACM Communications in Computer Algebra, 2020
CQF is a free, open-source Magma package for doing computations in quadratic forms theory. We present some selected ingredients of the package.

Analytical optimization of CQF filter banks

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1996
The optimization of subband filter banks for signal and image coding is normally dealt with by numerical means. It is shown that this optimization can be done analytically in the case of the prototype four-tap causal conjugate quadrature filter (CQF). The coding gain and aliasing energy are considered in the optimization.

Design of 2-band orthogonal near-symmetric CQF

2001 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37221), 2002
The FIR 2-band wavelets have found wide applications in practice. One of their disadvantages, however, is that they cannot be made both symmetric and orthogonal. There have been some works on filters which are orthogonal and nearly symmetric. Grobner methods are used to design orthogonal conjugate quadrature filters (CQF) with a sub-set of exactly ...

Realtime implementation of a subband coder using CQF filters

COMSIG 88@m_Southern African Conference on Communications and Signal Processing. Proceedings, 2003
The coder described uses a full-duplex, five-octave-band structure. An additional splitter is used to discard the top half of the highest band, allowing significant data reduction with little loss in quality. Conjugate quadrature filters (CQFs) were chosen for this implementation because they exhibit perfect reconstruction and were expected to offer ...

Injection Time Planning: Making CQF Practical in Time-Sensitive Networking

IEEE INFOCOM 2020 - IEEE Conference on Computer Communications, 2020
Time-Aware Shaper (TAS) is a core mechanism to guarantee the deterministic transmission for periodic time-sensitive flows in Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN). The generic TAS requires complex configurations for the Gate Control List (GCL) attached to each queue in a switch.

CQF filter banks matched to signal statistics

Signal Processing, 1992
The Karhunen-Loeve transformation (KLT) is the best one among all orthogonal transformations of a given size from the point of view of the coding gain. When bits have been optimally allocated to transform coefficients, the distortion is only a function of the product of the transform coefficient variances.

Formulation of the comprehensive quality function (CQF) for strategic planning

1997 IEEE 6th International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation Proceedings, EFTA '97, 2002
Winzer and Sitte (1993) and Sitte and Winzer (1994, 1995) modelled enterprise management as a learning control system that has the objective to optimise an enterprise specific comprehensive quality function (CQF). Learning control provides the conceptual framework for a practical decision support system.
