Search for Neutron Flux Generation in a Plasma Discharge Electrolytic Cell [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Following some recent unexpected hints of neutron production in setups like high-voltage atmospheric discharges and plasma discharges in electrolytic cells, we present a measurement of the neutron flux in a configuration similar to the latter. We use two

Neutron Dosimetry with Boron-Doped CR-39 Plastic [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 1984
As a highly sensitive, simple and non-radioactive neutron dosimeter, CR-39 plastic plates doped with a boron compound: ortho-carborane were prepared. After thermal neutron irradiation, the plates were etched in an aqueous solution of 30%KOH, at 60°C for 2 to 16 h.

CR-39 Etchpit Counting by Image Processing Technique [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Science and Technology, 1991
A new counting method of CR-39 etchpit has been developed by image processing technique using multivariate analysis. This method consists of two parts of image processing and multivariate analysis. Main features of this method are the flexibility for lighting condition, etchpit density and so on because standard image data analyzed by each observer is ...

Effect of thermal annealing on optical properties of CR-39 polymeric track detector [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The samples of CR-39 polymer (TASTRAK, Bristol, England) were annealled thermally at various temperatures ranging from 100oC to 180oC for 1 hour, in air. FTIR spectroscopy reveals the structural degradation of CR-39 polymer due to thermal annealing above
