Inhibition of corrosion of zinc by Cr(VI) and Cr(III) treatments
2007The corrosion behavior of Cr(VI) and Cr(III) treated zinc has been studied using scanning Kelvin probe (SKP), potentiodynamic polarization and elctrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The Volta potentials measured on the Cr(VI) or the CR(III)-A treated zinc area by SKP in a humid chamber are more negative than on the untreated zinc area, which is ...

Plant and Soil, 2010
The phytotoxicity of soil Cr usually depends on the plant availability of Cr(VI) in Cr-contaminated soils. However, Cr(VI) is favorably reduced to Cr(III) under acidic conditions, and increased availability of Cr(III) in acid soils can also cause phytotoxicity.

Electroanalysis, 2000
In-house reference soils were spiked with Cr(VI) or with Cr(VI) plus Mn(IV), incubated at constant humidity and temperature for different periods of time, extracted with distilled water, neutral phosphate buffer or carbonate/hydroxide solutions and tested for Cr(VI) by an adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetric method.

Ion Chromatography of Soluble Cr(III) and Cr(VI)
Journal of Chromatographic Science, 1989Ion chromatography coupled with a conductivity detector was used to investigate the analysis of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in aqueous samples. An IC methodology for Cr(III) was developed using a cation column and an eluent containing tartaric acid, ethylenediamine, and acetonitrile at pH 2.9. The detection limit of this method can reach 0.1 ppm level with good

Cr(III) and Cr(VI) speciation in environmental samples
Toxicological & Environmental Chemistry, 1997A simultaneous preconcentration procedure of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in environmental samples using a liquid anion exchange resin and a cation exchange resin was applied. There is a good agreement between total chromium values and the summations of the Cr(III) and Cr(VI). The recovery study was quantitative.

Biotechnology of Cr(VI) transformation into Cr(III) complexes
Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2008The dose-dependent formation of Cr(III) complexes and uptake of chromium by Arthrobacter oxydans — a Gram-positive bacterium from contaminated Columbian basalt rocks (USA) — were studied along with the testing under aerobic conditions of two bacterial strains of Arthrobacter genera isolated from the polluted basalts from the Republic of Georgia ...

Diffusion coefficients of Cr (VI) ions through inorganic ion-exchanger based on highly hydrated zirconium dioxide were determined with electromigration method. These values were found to de less than 1.73??10^???14 ??? 4.71??10^???14 m??/s depending on solution acidity. A possibility of application of this ion-exchanger for removal of Cr (VI) ions from

Characterization of the Cr(VI)/Cr(III) Ratio in Aerosols
2019Under environmental conditions chromium in compounds exists in the trivalent chromium Cr(III) or the hexavalent Cr(VI) state. Cr(III) is an essential trace element for mammals, including man, whereas it is presumed that Cr(VI) compounds are genotoxic and potentially carcinogenic in humans. Many Cr(III) compounds are slightly soluble in water.
