Based on remarkable morphological differences between the two species groups of Laphyragogus Kohl, 1889, the genus is split into Laphyragogus and a new genus, Asphaleia Mokrousov, gen. nov. (type species A. gussakovskii Mokrousov, sp. nov.).

A new combination for the bembicine genus Selman Parker, 1929 (Hymenoptera: Crabronidae)
Zootaxa, 2014The identity of Monedula diana Handlirsch, 1890 is reassessed and the species is transferred to the monotypic genus Selman, which now includes two species, S. diana n. comb. and S. notatus (Taschenberg, 1870). The main differences between the two species are presented.

Zootaxa, 2013
A cladistic analysis of the digger wasp subfamily Bembicinae based on morphological characters is presented. The under-lying data matrix comprises 83 terminal taxa (coded on genus-level) and 64 morphological characters. The resulting strict consensus tree was used as the basis for a revised tribal and subtribal classification of the Bembicinae.

III. Ecological Observations on Tachysphex pechumani (Hymenoptera: Crabronidae)
Northeastern Naturalist, 2008This study addressed aspects of the ecology of Tachysphex pechumani (antenna-waving wasp), a rare solitary wasp. Wasps nested in compacted sand, pri- marily where vegetative cover was 5-30% and vegetation height was 0.5 to 33 cm. Miltogrammine ? ies and predators presented challenges to wasp success at the study sites.

II. Nesting Behavior of Tachysphex pechumani (Hymenoptera: Crabronidae)
Northeastern Naturalist, 2008Abstract A re-examination of the nesting behavior of T. pechumani from 1991 to 1999 at 43 sites in the central Great Lakes Region and southern New Jersey revealed little difference between the two groups. More than 200 females were observed nesting solitarily in June–July in sandy soils of mostly oak/pine-dominant barrens, savanna, and open woodland ...
