Investigation of Residual Stress Distribution and Its Influence on Machining Deformation in 6061‑T651 Aluminum Alloy Plates Using Crack Compliance Method

open access: yesTransactions of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics
To investigate the residual stress distribution and its influence on machining deformation in 6061‑T651 aluminum alloy plates, this paper uses the crack compliance method to study the residual stress characteristics of 6061-T651 aluminum alloy plates ...

Application of the effective crack length method to model delamination of unidirectional composite laminates under Mode II shear loadings

open access: yesComposites Part C: Open Access, 2023
Damage modelling of composite material delamination is an intense field of research to understand the complex composite failure behaviour and predict the residual strength of damaged structures. One of the widely employed methods to simulate delamination

Numerical Evaluation of the Crack Compliance Method (CCM) in Beams with and without Prior History [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Mechanics and Materials, 2008
This work assesses the Crack Compliance Method (CCM), which has been extensively used for the experimental evaluation of residual stresses, by the Finite Element Method (FEM) to validate its experimental applicability through numerical evaluation.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Crack propagation in micro-chevron-test samples of direct bonded silicon-silicon wafers

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2013
Wafer bonding describes all technologies for joining two or more substrates directly or using certain intermediate layers. Current investigations are focused on so-called low temperature bonding as a special direct bonding technology.

Quantifying nonlinear fracture parameters in bituminous SCB specimens: A compliance-based approach

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
Bituminous mixtures containing various defects, such as cracks and voids, exhibit ductile behavior in hot environments and brittle behavior in cold environments.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Corrosion Effects on Fracture Toughness Properties of Wire Arc Additively Manufactured Low Carbon Steel Specimens

open access: yesMetals, 2022
The emerging wire + arc additive-manufacturing (WAAM) technique has significant potential to improve material design, as well as manufacturing cost and efficiency of structural components such as offshore wind turbines and subsequently reduce the ...
