Detection of Cracked Eggs

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1985
Abstract An automated system was developed for applying a starch-iodine stain to detect checked eggs under commercial conditions. The stain solution was sprayed onto previously candled eggs and then rinsed off. Checks not detectable by standard candling methods were visible as blue lines on the shell membrane upon recandling.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Detection Based on Crack Key Point and Deep Convolutional Neural Network

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Based on the features of cracks, this research proposes the concept of a crack key point as a method for crack characterization and establishes a model of image crack detection based on the reference anchor points method, named KP-CraNet. Based on ResNet,

Lane Crack Detection Based on Saliency

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Lane cracks are one of the biggest threats to pavement conditions. The automatic detection of lane cracks can not only assist the evaluation of road quality and quantity but can also be used to develop the best crack repair plan, so as to keep the road level and ensure driving safety.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
