Simulations of Crack Propagation in Porous Materials

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2000
Failure propagation behavior of thermally sprayed coatings containing many random pores is investigated. The porous coatings are subjected to either external mechanical loads or residual stresses generated by temperature changes. The failure growth criterion is governed by the critical energy release rate.

Computer Simulation of Crack Propagation

Physical Review Letters, 1980
Computer simulations of crack properties were performed on a two-dimensional triangular lattice with a Lennard-Jones interatomic interaction. The use of a long-range potential and an unconstrained sample revealed novel features compared to earlier simulations. The Griffith energy treatment for fracture was found wanting.

Numerical Simulation of Corrosion Fatigue Crack Propagation

2009 International Conference on Education Technology and Computer, 2009
In this paper, the corrosion fatigue crack propagation behavior of aluminum alloy specimens in corrosive solution has been investigated. Based upon the experimental results of corrosion fatigue growth, we proposed the stochastic processes method and the AFGROW software simulation method to predicate the numerical simulation of corrosion fatigue crack ...
