C/EBPα is Essential for Gonadal but Not Inguinal White Adipose Tissue Formation in Mice

open access: yesObesity, EarlyView.
Human genetics has linked the gene CEBPA to waist to hip ratio and adipose distribution. We generated mice with AdipoQ‐Cre driven deletion of Cebpa and found these mice to have a specific reduction in gonadal white adipose tissue and myriad other metabolic phenotypes.

Innovative γ‐Oryzanol and KC2 Based Lipid Nanoparticles: OryKL Platform Provides Safe and Efficient In Vivo mRNA Delivery

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Identified through multi‐stage selection process, a formulation combining γ‐oryzanol and DLin‐KC2‐DMA, termed as OryKL, demonstrates unique nano‐structural features, highly efficient mRNA transfection and functional integrity during long‐term storage, enables broad biodistribution and distinct cell tropism following intravenous administration with no ...

CRISPR/Cas9 Genome Engineering in Non‐Conventional Oleaginous Yeasts: Applications, Challenges, and Prospects

open access: yesYeast, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Given the biotechnological potential of yeast‐derived oils for oleochemical production, genes encoding lipid metabolism enzymes are key targets for metabolic engineering. Genetic engineering tools such as Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR)/Cas9, Transcription Activator‐Like Effector Nucleases (TALENs), Zinc ...

Sensitizer‐Induced Basophils Accelerate Skin Re‐Epithelialization via IL‐4/IL‐13‐Mediated Macrophage Polarization

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Oxazolone exposure drives rapid basophil recruitment to wounded skin, accelerating re‐epithelialization, angiogenesis, and tissue regeneration. Basophils are the dominant early source of IL‐4 and IL‐13 in the wound microenvironment. Basophil‐derived IL‐4/IL‐13 promote macrophage polarization toward a pro‐repair M2 phenotype, enabling efficient wound ...

SWITCHER, a CRISPR-inducible floxed wild-type Cre regulating CRISPR activity

open access: yesCommunications Biology
Although several Cre-regulated CRISPR/Cas platforms exist, a CRISPR/Cas-controlled Cre-system remains a challenge. Here, we present a genetic switch we term SWITCHER based on a floxed wild-type Cre-construct representing a CRISPR-inducible and self ...

Cannabigerol reverses mechanical allodynia through α2A‐adrenergic modulation of thalamocortical signaling in chemotherapy‐induced neuropathy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose Chemotherapy‐induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a prevalent and treatment‐resistant side effect of platinum‐based chemotherapy, characterised by mechanical allodynia. Cannabigerol (CBG), a non‐psychoactive cannabinoid, has shown antinociceptive potential, but its site and mechanism of action remain unclear.
