Advances in Nano‐Immunomodulatory Systems for the Treatment of Acute Kidney Injury
Based on the biodegradability and the immunological reactiveness, IMNs can be broadly classified into four categories. The first category includes types of biologically derived materials that cause immunomodulatory action and biodegradability like nanoparticles of cell membranes, extracellular vesicles, and exosomes.

Sum of previous inpatient serum creatinine measurements predicts acute kidney injury in rehospitalized patients [PDF]
Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), the abrupt decline in kidney function due to temporary or permanent injury, is associated with increased mortality, morbidity, length of stay, and hospital cost. Sometimes, simple interventions such as medication review or hydration can prevent AKI. There is therefore interest in estimating risk of AKI at hospitalization.

Risk markers by sex for in-hospital mortality in patients with acute coronary syndrome: a machine learning approach [PDF]
Background: Several studies have highlighted the importance of considering sex differences in the diagnosis and treatment of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). However, the identification of sex-specific risk markers in ACS sub-populations has been scarcely studied.

Non-Creatinine Chromogen and Creatinine Clearance in the Rat
A controversy concerning the significance of renal creatinine clearances in the rat has resulted from conflicting observations. Lipp-man (1) reported that the exogenous creatinine clearance is much greater than the endogenous clearance. Fingl(2) reported that the creati-nine/inulin clearance ratio is depressed toward 1 as the plasma creatinine ...

Lactobacillus johnsonii and its associated purine metabolite inosine not only restrict systemic B cell differentiation, but also contribute to immune cell infiltration in the kidneys, thereby serving dual functions in mitigating the progression of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Antigen‐Targeting Inserted Nanomicelles Guide Pre‐Existing Immunity to Kill Head and Neck Cancer
This study introduces a tumor‐targeted nanomicelle platform (preS1‐pHLIP) that exploits pre‐existing antiviral immunity to combat heterogeneous cancers. By delivering viral antigens to label tumors as virus‐like targets, the nanomicelles activate antiviral B and T cells, triggering in situ tumor lysis.

Our hospital introduced a standardized protocol for the treatment of osteoporosis in patients admitted for hip fracture. The aim of this article was to describe its implementation as well as assess the protocol's effect on treatment rates and safety. In our analysis, there was significant improvement in treatment rates with no instances of acute kidney
