Comparison of 24‐hour urinary creatinine clearance and estimated glomerular filtration rate based on a panel of filtration markers in patients with chronic kidney disease

open access: yesPharmacology Research & Perspectives, 2022
Diagnosis and management of chronic kidney disease (CKD) requires accurate assessment of glomerular filtration rate (GFR). In practice, GFR is typically estimated by equations based on creatinine concentration in blood, but creatinine is affected by non ...

Conversion of Urine Protein–Creatinine Ratio or Urine Dipstick Protein to Urine Albumin–Creatinine Ratio for Use in Chronic Kidney Disease Screening and Prognosis

open access: yesAnnals of Internal Medicine, 2020
BACKGROUND Although measuring albuminuria is the preferred method for defining and staging chronic kidney disease (CKD), total urine protein or dipstick protein is often measured instead.

Urinary Neutrophil Gelatinase-associated Lipocalin as a Marker for Identification of Acute Kidney Injury and Recovery in Dogs with Gentamicin-induced Nephrotoxicity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BackgroundAcute kidney injury (AKI) is associated with high mortality rates in dogs, which may be a consequence of late recognition using traditional diagnostic tests.

Risk factors for deterioration of renal function after coronary artery bypass grafting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Objective: Various definitions of impairment of renal function after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) are used in the literature. Depending on the definition, several risk factors are identified.

Correlation of serum uric acid with lipid profile in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with normal creatinine level: Report from a tertiary care hospital in India

open access: yesJournal of Family Medicine and Primary Care, 2022
Background: Increased serum uric acid (SUA) level is considered a risk factor for kidney diseases in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients. Deranged lipid profile in T2DM is an overall risk factor for cardiovascular complications.

Creatinine and Surveys: An Assessment [PDF]

open access: yescclm, 1995
We analysed the results of surveys on creatinine held in The Netherlands during the years 1992, 1993 and 1994. Assay results of 113 samples were reviewed: 88 human sera and 25 samples of animal origin. The results of 5 creatinine assays, 4 based on the Jaffé reaction and 1 enzymatic procedure, are discussed.

Influence of the background activity region selection on the measurement of glomerular filtration rate using the Gates method [PDF]

open access: yesVojnosanitetski Pregled, 2008
Background/Aim. The most frequent method for the assessment of glomerular filtration rate GFR) in clinical practice is clearance of creatinine, clearance of chromium-51 radiolabelled ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (51Cr-EDTA) and clearance of ...

Estimated glomerular filtration rate and blood pressure in a sample of obese Egyptian adolescents

open access: yesJournal of the Arab Society for Medical Research, 2022
Background/aim Obesity is a major risk factor for some comorbid conditions. Our goal was to study the relationship between obesity and kidney function in adolescents using estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) as well as to study blood pressure (BP)
