Comparison of Bayesian and frequentist methods for prevalence estimation under misclassification
Background Various methods exist for statistical inference about a prevalence that consider misclassifications due to an imperfect diagnostic test.

Estimating metabolic rate for butadiene at steady state using a Bayesian physiologically-based pharmacokinetic model [PDF]
In a study of 133 volunteer subjects, demographic, physiologic and pharmacokinetic data through exposure to 1,3-Butadiene (BD) were collected in order to estimate the percentage of BD concentration metabolized at steady state, and to determine whether

Coverage of credible intervals in Bayesian multivariate isotonic regression
We consider the nonparametric multivariate isotonic regression problem, where the regression function is assumed to be nondecreasing with respect to each predictor. Our goal is to construct a Bayesian credible interval for the function value at a given interior point with assured limiting frequentist coverage.

ABSTRACT Ongoing evidence indicates increased risk of sarcopenic obesity among children and young people (CYP) with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), often beginning early in treatment, persisting into survivorship. This review evaluates current literature on body composition in CYP with ALL during and after treatment.

ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

Bayesian Variable Selection Utilizing Posterior Probability Credible Intervals [PDF]
AbstractIn recent years, there has been growing interest in the problem of model selection in the Bayesian framework. Current approaches include methods based on computing model probabilities such as Stochastic Search Variable Selection (SSVS) and Bayesian LASSO and methods based on model choice criteria, such as the Deviance Information Criterion (DIC)

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Application of Bayesian Analysis in Medical Diagnosis
In this work, we outlined the application of the Bayesian technique for integrating the results of multiple tests while treating any disease. We provided an overview of the fundamental concept of Bayesian analysis in making an inference about a ...

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.
