Credit Cycles and Business Cycles [PDF]

open access: yesReview, 2018
Unsecured firm credit moves procyclically in the United States and tends to lead gross domestic product, while secured firm credit is acyclical. Shocks to unsecured firm credit explain a far larger fraction of output fluctuations than shocks to secured credit.

Lending Standards Over the Credit Cycle [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2015
We empirically identify the lending standards applied by banks to small and medium firms over the cycle. We exploit an institutional feature of the Italian credit market that generates a sharp discontinuity in the allocation of comparable firms into credit risk categories.

Memory and Resting‐State Connectivity in Acute Transient Global Amnesia: A Case–Control fMRI Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a striking model of isolated amnesia. While hippocampal lesions are well described, the network‐level mechanisms and the precise neuropsychological profile remain debated. Our objective was thus to characterize functional and neuropsychological correlates of acute TGA and their ...

Integrating Patient‐Reported Quality Measures in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: Development of the American College of Rheumatology Implementation Guide

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To support high‐quality, patient‐centered care for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) developed evidence‐based measures incorporating clinical and patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs). Using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), we conducted semistructured interviews ...

IN4MER Biomaterial Ink: A Phosphorescent Biosensing Biomaterial Ink for Multiple Analytes (Glucose, Lactate, Oxygen) Measurements and Temperature Sensing Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multianalyte, real‐time monitoring of bioprinted scaffolds remains challenging. Phosphorescence‐lifetime–based, optically responsive microparticles are embedded in diverse printable hydrogels (κ‐carrageenan, GelMA, PEGDA) to form biomaterial inks that report oxygen, glucose, lactate, and temperature.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

CREDIT-RELATED SHOCKS IN VAR MODELS: THE CASE OF LITHUANIA

open access: yesEkonomika, 2018
This article provides empirical evidence on the role played by credit-related shocks over the business cycle in Lithuania. To this end, we estimate a vector auto regression (VAR) with credit and housing variables and identify credit-related shocks. Using

Plasmonic Enhancement of Fluorescence and Protein Dynamics in Living Mammalian Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates plasmonic enhancement of the function of fluorescent voltage sensing proteins (genetically encoded voltage indicators, (GEVIs), QuasAr6) in live mammalian cells. Coupling to plasmonic nanoparticles does not just increase fluorescence, but influences the protein photocycle, creating a hybrid sensor with its response speed to ...

Determinants of credit to households in a life-cycle model [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper applies a life-cycle model with individual income uncertainty to investigate the determinants of credit to households. We show that the value of household credit to GDP ratio depends on (i) the lending-deposit interest rate spread, (ii ...

The role of credit in regional divergence: Spanish regions and Eurozone countries

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Political Economy, 2020
This paper provides a theoretical account of the role of regional differences in cyclical patterns of credit availability for patterns of regional convergence or divergence.
