Damage and hardening evolution characteristics of sandstone under multilevel creep–fatigue loading

open access: yesGeomechanics and Geophysics for Geo-Energy and Geo-Resources
During the operation of artificial underground structures, the surrounding rock experiences fatigue and creep damage caused by several types of disturbances under long-term constant loading.

Bone creep-fatigue damage accumulation

open access: yesJournal of Biomechanics, 1989
Creep and fatigue tests were performed on human femoral cortical bone and the results were compared to a cumulative damage model for bone fracture. Fatigue tests in tension, compression, and reversed loading with a tensile mean stress were conducted at 2 Hz and 0.02 Hz.

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

ALDOA Promotes Glycolysis and NLRP3/GSDMD Pyroptosis to Accelerate ALS Progression

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Glycolytic dysregulation is implicated in disease progression, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates how Aldolase A (ALDOA) drives ALS progression through glycolysis‐mediated motor neuron pyroptosis.

Prominent Movement Disorders in RNU2‐2‐Related Spliceosomopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric movement disorders often overlap with neurodevelopmental diseases, suggesting shared molecular mechanisms. Variants in small nuclear RNA (snRNA) genes encoding spliceosome components have recently been associated with neurodevelopmental disorders, termed “RNUopathies.” We analyzed genome sequencing data from 14 patients with ...

Numerical analysis of triaxial creep-fatigue interaction of rock salt

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
This study investigates the creep-fatigue interaction characteristics of rock salt under triaxial conditions. Utilizing PFC2D to conduct creep-fatigue simulation tests on rock salt under various confining pressures and stress intervals, the research ...

Mechanical Strength and Fatigue Fracture Analysis on Al-Zn-Mg Alloy with the Influence of Creep Aging Process

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2021
The Al-Zn-Mg alloy comes under the aluminium alloy; it possesses good capability of age hardening and superior strength in contrast to other alloys. The numbers of creep aging experiments are conducted with the support of different temperature levels ...

Design and Assessment for Creep-Fatigue and Creep-Fatigue Crack Growth

open access: yesVolume 1B: Codes and Standards, 2016
Creep-fatigue assessments require inputs for both creep damage and fatigue damage. Then these damage terms are combined using some form of interaction diagram to enable estimation of the creep-fatigue life. Similarly, creep-fatigue crack growth assessments need separate calculations of creep crack growth, fatigue crack growth and again possibly some ...

Trajectories of Physical Function in Canadian Children With Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We describe trajectories of physical function in children newly diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and identify trajectories with persisting functional impairments and associated baseline characteristics. Methods We included patients enrolled in the Canadian Alliance of Pediatric Rheumatology Investigators (CAPRI) Registry ...

Impact of creep-fatigue interaction on divertor tungsten under high heat flux

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2023
High heat flux as 20 MW m−2 during stationary operation can be foreseen in future fusion devices, leading to recrystallization and thermal creep in tungsten targets. Both recrystallization and thermal creep impact would play significant roles in service.
