Prediction of Creep Rupture Life of 5Cr-0.5Mo Steel Using Machine Learning Models

open access: yesMetals
The creep rupture life of 5Cr-0.5Mo steels used in high-temperature applications is significantly influenced by factors such as minor alloying elements, hardness, austenite grain size, non-metallic inclusions, service temperature, and applied stress. The

Deep learning accelerates the development of Ni-based single crystal superalloys: A physical-constrained neural network for creep rupture life prediction

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2023
Creep rupture life is a key target for designing Ni-based single crystal (SX) superalloys. Machine learning (ML) has the potential to accelerate alloy design by accurately predicting the creep rupture life of potential superalloys.

Creep rupture and life prediction of polymer composites

open access: yes, 2019
Lack of long term performance data inhibits the widespread use of composites. The long-term response/performance of composite materials and structures exposed under service conditions (load, time, temperature, water, and others) must be established ...

Review of Creep Cavitation and Rupture of Low Cr Alloy and its Weldment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents a review of creep cavitation and rupture of low Cr alloy and its weldment, particular in the heat-affected zone (HAZ). Creep damage is one of the serious problems for the high temperature industry.

Effect of Ce on creep damage behavior of 316LN austenitic stainless steel at 700 °C

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
The effect of rare earth element Ce on creep damage behavior of 316LN austenitic stainless steel (316LN) at 700 °C was systematically investigated under stress ranging from 125 MPa to 200 MPa. The results show that the addition of 0.032 wt% Ce remarkably

Reliability analysis of creep rupture dataset extrapolation methods for 316H austenitic stainless steel [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The prediction of the service life of high temperature structural components is critical to the safety of structures. Due to the scarcity of long-term test data, it is necessary to extrapolate and analyse the creep rupture data set to predict the life of

Premature Creep Rupture and Overestimation of Rupture Life in Modified 9Cr–1Mo Steel

open access: yesTetsu-to-Hagane, 2010
Creep rupture life in the time range of 105 h and longer has been evaluated on the basis of creep rupture data available on modified 9Cr–1Mo (Gr.91) steel. The steel is strengthened by a tempered martensite lath structure, which degrades by means of strain induced recovery in short-term creep (Region H). The degradation leads to creep rupture.
