CRISPR-Cas system

open access: yes, 2016
Bacteria can receive genetic material from other bacteria or invading bacteriophages primarily through horizontal gene transfer. These genetic exchanges can result in genome rearrangement and the acquisition of novel traits that assist cells with stresses and adverse environmental conditions.

Cleavage‐Resistant CYLD Protects Against Autoimmune Hepatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Proteolytic cleavage of the deubiquitinase CYLD emerges as a critical driver of autoimmune hepatitis. TNFα‐induced CYLD loss in macrophages amplifies S100A9‐triggered MAPK activation, leading to excessive chemokine production and hepatic inflammation. Pharmacological inhibition of MEK signaling effectively attenuates experimental disease, highlighting ...

Comprehensive Analysis of CRISPR-Cas Systems and Their Influence on Antibiotic Resistance in Strains

open access: yesBioinformatics and Biology Insights
Salmonella enterica is a gram-negative bacterium that demonstrates a remarkable ability to acquire antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). The role of the CRISPR-Cas system in influencing antibiotic resistance in S.

Anti‐Apoptotic and Neurite‐Protective Nanomedicine Augments Embryonic Stem Cells‐Derived Retinal Ganglion Cell Transplantation in Glaucoma Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lithium‐epigallocatechin gallate nanoparticles (Li‐EGCG NPs) are co‐transplanted with embryonic stem cell‐derived retinal ganglion cells (ESC‐RGCs) to enhance cell survival and therapeutic efficacy in an acute pathological glaucomatous injury model. This synergistic approach protects RGC cells, preserves retinal structure and improves visual function ...

ITGB1 Regulates Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Development by Modulating the Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tumorigenesis and metastasis are frequently attributed to the intricate interplay between cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment (TME). Comprehending the mechanisms and key regulators of cancer‐immune crosstalk in the TME is imperative for developing efficacious immunotherapy.

Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.
