HNF3α Targets Nckap1l and Promotes Renal Fibrosis Following Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 3 alpha (HNF3α) is significantly upregulated in renal tubular epithelial cells of CKD patients and fibrotic mice. Deletion of HNF3α mitigates IRI‐induced renal fibrosis, while overexpression worsens it. HNF3α directly regulates NCK‐associated protein 1‐like (Nckap1l), whose overexpression exacerbates fibrosis.

CRISPR/Cas-based nucleic acid detection strategies: Trends and challenges

open access: yesHeliyon
CRISPR/Cas systems have become integral parts of nucleic acid detection apparatus and biosensors. Various CRISPR/Cas systems such as CRISPR/Cas9, CRISPR/Cas12, CRISPR/Cas13, CRISPR/Cas14 and CRISPR/Cas3 utilize different mechanisms to detect or ...

Separable bi-Hamiltonian systems with quadratic in momenta first integrals [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2003
Geometric separability theory of Gel'fand-Zakharevich bi-Hamiltonian systems on Riemannian manifolds is reviewed and developed. Particular attention is paid to the separability of systems generated by the so-called special conformal Killing tensors, i.e. Benenti systems.

Cas3 is a limiting factor for CRISPR-Cas immunity in Escherichia coli cells lacking H-NS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background: CRISPR-Cas systems provide adaptive immunity to mobile genetic elements in prokaryotes. In many bacteria, including E. coli, a specialized ribonucleoprotein complex called Cascade enacts immunity by “an interference reaction" between CRISPR ...

The GhWL1‐GhH1‐GhGA2OX1 Transcriptional Module Regulates Cotton Leaf Morphology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified GhWL1 as a key gene involved in regulating leaf development through analysis of a T‐DNA insertion mutant. The GhWL1‐GhH1 complex is shown to positively regulate GhGA2OX1 by directly binding to its promoter, thereby establishing the GhWL1‐GhH1‐GhGA2OX1 module as a critical pathway in leaf development.

A Step towards an Easy Interconversion of Various Number Systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
Any system that is used for naming or representing numbers is a number system, also known as numeral system. The modern civilization is familiar with decimal number system using ten digits. However digital devices and computers use binary number system instead of decimal number system, using only two digits namely, 0 and 1 based on the fundamental ...

Delivery of A Chemically Modified Noncoding RNA Domain Improves Dystrophic Myotube Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CYTOR is a pro‐myogenic ncRNA in skeletal muscle. Here, chemical probing of CYTOR, coupled with functional cellular assays identifies exon 2 as an independent myogenic RNA domain. Chemical engineering of CYTOR exon 2 RNA improves pharmacologic properties, including RNA stability and cell‐autonomous immunogenicity.

Quorum Sensing Controls Adaptive Immunity through the Regulation of Multiple CRISPR-Cas Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Bacteria commonly exist in high cell density populations, making them prone to viral predation and horizontal gene transfer (HGT) through transformation and conjugation.
