Examining the factor structure of the teachers’ sense of efficacy scale - short form in a Serbian sample of elementary-level teachers: A bifactor-ESEM approach [PDF]

open access: yesPsihologija
This study explored the factor structure of the short form of the Teachers’ Sense of Efficacy Scale (TSES-Sf) using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and Exploratory Structural Equation Modeling (ESEM), as well as bifactor models based on these two ...

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Modules and Logic Programming

open access: yes, 2004
We study conditions for a concurrent construction of proof-nets in the framework developed by Andreoli in recent papers. We define specific correctness criteria for that purpose. We first study closed modules (i.e.

Freezing transition of the vortex liquid in anisotropic superconductors

open access: yes, 1999
We study the solid-liquid transition of a model of pancake vortices in laminar superconductors using a density functional theory of freezing. The physical properties of the system along the melting line are discussed in detail.

The development of a new measure of quality of life in the management of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease: the Reflux Questionnaire. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
INTRODUCTION This paper reports on the development of a new measure of health-related quality of life for use among patients with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), funded as part of the REFLUX trial.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

A New Criterion for Clusters Validation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper a new criterion for clusters validation is proposed. This new cluster validation criterion is used to approximate the goodness of a cluster. The clusters which satisfy a threshold of this measure are selected to participate in clustering ensemble.

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.
