Criterion-Related Validity of a Clinical Simulation
Journal of Nursing Education, 1986ABSTRACT This study explored the criterion-related validity of a clinical simulation by examining nurse practitioner's (NP) performance as measured by a chart audit and direct observation of care with performance on a clinical simulation.

Sparse estimation based on a validation criterion
IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and European Control Conference, 2011A sparse estimator with close ties with the LASSO (least absolute shrinkage and selection operator) is analysed. The basic idea of the estimator is to relax the least-squares cost function to what the least-squares method would achieve on validation data and then use this as a constraint in the minimization of the l 1 -norm of the parameter vector.

The validity of running criterion for vector and scalar fields is analyzed. It is shown that such criterion may be used for scalar fields of any kind. This criterion may be implemented for relatively simple vector fields like heterogeneously polarized beams with central symmetry of their parameters and it cannot use for vector field of general type ...

Predictive Validity of Tracking Decisions: Application of a New Validation Criterion
2013Although tracking decisions are primarily based on students’ achievements, distributions of academic competences in secondary school strongly overlap between school tracks. However, the correctness of tracking decisions usually is based on whether or not a student has kept the track she or he was initially assigned to.

Empirical validation of a domain test selection criterion
Journal of Systems and Software, 1996Abstract This article describes an experimental evaluation of a domain test selection criterion called V × V. The aim of the experiment was to verify the fault-exposing ability and the real applicability of this test selection criterion and to compare them with the ones of random, All-Edges, and All-Paths test selection criteria.
