A Strain-based Multiaxial Fatigue Criterion Connected to the Critical Plane Approach
AbstractA critical plane-based high-cycle multiaxial fatigue criterion, known as the Carpinteri-Spagnoli (C-S) criterion, is here extended to evaluate the fatigue lifetime of plain metallic components under constant amplitude loading in the low/medium-cycle regime.

Fatigue life estimation in welded joints under multiaxial loadings [PDF]
Welded joints are frequently locations for cracks initiation and propagation that may cause fatigue failure of engineering structures. Biaxial or triaxial stress-strain states are present in the vicinity of welded joints, due to local geometrical ...

Reaction plane alignment with linearly polarized photon in heavy-ion collisions
The collective observables play critical roles in probing the properties of quark-gluon-plasma created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions, in which the information on initial collision geometry is crucial. However, the initial collision geometry, e.g.,

Theory of the algebraic vortex liquid in an anisotropic spin-(1/2) triangular antiferromagnet [PDF]
We explore spin-(1/2) triangular antiferromagnets with both easy-plane and lattice exchange anisotropies by employing a dual vortex mapping followed by a fermionization of the vortices.

Multiaxial fatigue life evaluation using strain energy-based critical plane approach
Abstract Based on critical plane approach, this paper develops a new damage parameter through combing the equivalent strain energy aspect for multiaxial fatigue analysis, which includes no additional parameters and overcomes the deficiency of using only equivalent stress/strain criterion separately under multiaxial loadings.

Research of Fatigue Crack Growth Based on Critical Plane Method
To precisely simulate the path of crack growth, a simulation of crack growth progress has been presented by using the redevelopment function of ANSYS APDL and introducing the random criterion of crack propagate directions with critical plane approach ...

Extended Quintessence with non-minimally coupled phantom scalar field
We investigate evolutional paths of an extended quintessence with a non-minimally coupled phantom scalar field $\psi$ to the Ricci curvature. The dynamical system methods are used to investigate typical regimes of dynamics at the late time.

Fluctuation conductivity in layered d-wave superconductors near critical disorder
We consider the fluctuation conductivity in the critical region of a disorder induced quantum phase transition in layered d-wave superconductors. We specifically address the fluctuation contribution to the system's conductivity in the limit of large ...
