High Back Pressure on Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs) in a Flare System. Developing the Simulation model, Identifying and analyzing the back-pressure build-up [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Process safety is a disciplined framework for managing the integrity of operating systems and processes handling hazardous substances. It is achieved by applying good design principles, engineering, and operating and maintenance practices.

Analytical study on critical load and deformation of chip in high-pressure jet assisted machining

open access: yes, 2023
In machining, particularly of difficult-to-machine materials, chip-breaking with the aim to avoid entangled chips represents an important issue. In contrast to the widely used obstacle-induced chip breaking (e.g., chip former on the rake face of the ...

Mapping 3D printed part density and filament flow characteristics in the material extrusion (MEX) process for filled and unfilled polymers

open access: yesVirtual and Physical Prototyping
Material extrusion (MEX) 3D printing offers a promising avenue for fabricating metal and ceramic components, where highly loaded polymer filaments are 3D-printed and sintered.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Numerical and Experimental Investigation of Fretting Wear in Connecting Rod Big-End Bearings of Nuclear Emergency Diesel Generators

open access: yesLubricants
The operational reliability of Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs) is paramount for the safety of nuclear power plants. This study investigates the fretting wear mechanism on the non-working back-face of connecting rod big-end bearings—a critical failure ...

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...
