Dynamic and Buckling Analysis of Hybrid Composite Beam Strengthened with Carbon Fibers/Aramid Fibers under Temperature Gradient [PDF]

open access: yesMechanics of Advanced Composite Structures
Dynamic and buckling of a composite beam reinforced with a combination of carbon and aramid fibers is studied in this paper. The beam is under a thermal gradient through the thickness.

Modelling Buckling and Post-buckling Behaviours of Corrugated Paperboard Structures

open access: yes, 2012
The buckling and post-buckling behaviours of corrugated paperboard packaging structures are the focus of this study. The motivations for this study are to improve understanding of post-buckling behaviour to better predict packaging performance and ...

Micropillar‐Engineered Hybrid Adhesive Patch for Surface‐Conformable and Directional Adhesion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work presents a surface‐conformable hybrid adhesive integrating height‐optimized hexagonal micropillars with open‐rectangular cuts. The micropillars enhance rough‐surface contact and microscale crack arrest, while the cuts guide and reverse interfacial cracks for strong and directional adhesion. The multiscale architecture achieves robust pull‐off

SIMULATION AND ANALYSIS OF THE BUCKLING BEHAVIOR OF A STIFF FILM/COMPLIANT SUBSTRATE COMPOSITE UNDER IN-PLANE COMPRESSION

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2020
The thin film composite often buckles due to mismatch strain between each layer induced by in-plane residual stress during manufacturing or service loadings in operation.

Tunable Extraordinary Optical Transmission in the Long‐Wavelength Infrared Range Using Electrostatic MEMS Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A MEMS‐integrated metamaterial filter enables continuous, low‐voltage spectral tuning in the long‐wavelength infrared (LWIR). The device employs extraordinary optical transmission in a dual suspended metasurface stack, where electrostatic actuation precisely controls the intermembrane air gap.

Buckling and Post-Buckling Analysis of Cracked Plates by The Boundary Element Method

open access: yes, 2003
PhDThis thesis presents boundary element formulations for buckling and nonlinear buckling analysis of plates. Dual boundary element formulations are also presented for linear and nonlinear buckling, and large deformation analysis of crack behaviour in

Compression and buckling after impact response of resin-infused thermoplastic and thermoset 3D woven composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Damage tolerance of a unique resin-infused thermoplastic (Elium) 3D fibre-reinforced composite (3D-FRC) is compared with the conventional resin-infused thermoset (Epoxy) 3D-FRC using compression after impact (CAI) tests and finite element simulations ...

Buckling‐Driven Linearity in Flexible Capacitive Pressure Sensors Based on a Three‐Dimensional Dual‐Pore Polyurethane Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible pressure sensor utilizing a 3D dual‐pore polyurethane structure is developed to overcome the intrinsic trade‐off between sensitivity and linearity. By inducing sequential buckling through distinct pore sizes and shapes, the device achieves highly linear and sensitive responses across a wide pressure range.

Lateral-torsional buckling resistance of pultruded fibre reinforced polymer shapes [PDF]

open access: yes
The currently lack of design guidance for pultruded fibre-reinforced polymer member requires more study on their structural behaviours in order to provide structural designer with confidence when applying this material into civil engineering.
