Critical current density changes in irradiated Nb3Sn

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1979
Abstract Soll recently modeled changes in the current-carrying capacity of superconducting Nb3Sn after irradiation. As the dose increases, the critical current density (Jc) generally increases, reaches a maximum, and decreases. The model relates the maximum Jc for different types of irradiations to the integrated damage energy (ED) that the ...

Critical Current Density in Multifilamentary Composites

1978
The maximum current that can be carried by a superconductor and the hysteretic losses have been traditionally related to critical current and critical current density.

Josephson junctions with alternating critical current density

Physical Review B, 1997
The magnetic-field dependence of the critical currentI c(H) is considered for a short Josephson junction with the critical current density j c alternating along the tunnel contact. Two model cases, periodic and randomly alternating j c , are treated in detail. Recent experimental data on I c(H) for grain-boundary Josephson junctions in YBa 2Cu 3O x are

Magnetization and Critical Current Density

1986
This chapter, which concludes a series of discussions of the magnetic- field-induced mixed state of type-II superconductors, considers the application of magnetic measurements to critical current density determination, and in so doing makes a transition into the next group of chapters (in Volume 2) which deal with the current-carrying mixed state ...

Critical current density in the Tl2212 film

Physica C: Superconductivity, 2000
Abstract A method of numerical simulation combined with experimental curves of AC susceptibility (ACS) is proposed to determine the temperature dependent critical current density J c0 (T) without flux creep. Based on this method and ACS curves, we have determined the J c0 (T) of the Tl2212 thin film.

Critical current density and flux shear mechanisms

Cryogenics, 1990
Abstract An analysis is made of the magnetic field, B, dependence of the superconducting critical current density, Jc, based on flux shear mechanism models proposed by Kramer, Evetts and Plummer, and Dew-Hughes, using shear elastic modulus C66 expressions derived by Labusch and by Brandt.

Critical current density of filamentary Y123 superconductor

Physica C: Superconductivity, 1996
Abstract Long precursor filaments are prepared by dry spinning with a starting homogeneous aqueous PVA solution containing Y, Ba and Cu acetates. By controlling the spinning process and partial-melting, a high J c value of more than 10 5 A/cm 2 at 77 K and 0 T was obtained.

Critical current density in epitaxial YBa2Cu3Ox film

Physica C: Superconductivity, 1995
Abstract The critical current density J c of YBa 2 Cu 3 O x epitaxial film as a function of the angle θ between magnetic field and ab -plane with H ⊥ I and temperature was measured in various magnetic fields. Maxima of J c were observed near 0° and 90°, respectively, with that for the latter higher than that for the former.

Measurement Methods for Critical Current Density

2007
Chapter 5 covers various measurement methods for the critical current density. The four terminal method with some criterion on the electric field strength or resistivity is commonly used for long wires or tapes. The DC magnetization method with the theoretical prediction of the critical state model is sometimes used for specimens for which the four ...
