Investigation of BSCCO Superconductors with Ga Substitution by Solid State Method

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal
Samples of (Bi2-xGax)Sr2CaCu2O2 superconductors with varying Ga substitution levels (x=0, 0.06, 0.12, 0.20) were synthesized using the solid-state reaction method. The effects of partial substitution of bismuth and gallium elements on the BSCCO structure

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Strong Influence of Pressure on the Magnetic Properties of MgB2 Bulk Superconductors

open access: yesSakarya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Dergisi, 2023
The influence of the pressure on the magnetic and superconducting properties of polycrystalline MgB2 bulks was studied. Bulk MgB2 samples were prepared using conventional in-situ solid state reaction and hot-pressing methods.

Giant increase in critical current density of KxFe2-ySe2 single crystals

open access: yes, 2012
By using post-annealing and quenching technique, we show that the critical current density Jc,ab of KxFe2-ySe2 single crystals can be enhanced more than one order of magnitude up to ~ 2.1 \times 10^4 A/cm^2 at 1.8 K.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Critical current density and trapped field in HTS with asymmetric magnetization loops

open access: yes, 2015
Applications of the extended critical state model are considered. The trapped magnetic field, the penetration field and the field dependence of the critical current density are analysed.

Magnetically modulated critical current densities of Co/Nb hybrid [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
AbstractBy tuning morphology and size of magnetic subsystem, ferromagnet-superconductor (F/S) hybrid system provides an effective way to modulate superconductivity due to the interaction between superconducting and magnetic-order parameters at the mesoscopic length scale.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Doping-Induced Isotopic Mg11B2 Bulk Superconductor for Fusion Application

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
Superconducting wires are widely used for fabricating magnetic coils in fusion reactors. Superconducting magnet system represents a key determinant of the thermal efficiency and the construction/operating costs of such a reactor.

Tape Development: Microstructure and Critical Current Densities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The formation of the textured Bi,Pb(2223) in mono- and multifilamentary tapes is described as a result of several reactions, involving an intermediate phase Bi,Pb(2212), which is formed as a solid solution of the initial phase Bi(2212), the latter having a monoclinic superstructure.
